About QR Code Check-In and How to Set it Up
Learn how to generate a QR code for your store so customers can check themselves into a buy — no texting required.
Why use QR code check-in?
Instead of texting every customer a link, place a printed QR code at your cashwrap. Customers scan it and fill out the check-in form on their own phone — even while waiting in line. This reduces texting issues, speeds up your team, and lets multiple customers submit their info at the same time.
You'll need manager (or owner) access to reach All Settings. At the POS, you may need to tap the lock icon first and enter your PIN before the settings option becomes available.
Part 1: Set up your store's QR code
You'll need an owner or manager login to follow these steps.
- 1
Open All Settings
Open the ResaleAI app at the POS (or go to team.resaleai.com from any laptop or phone). Tap the menu dots in the top-right corner and choose All Settings.

- 2
Go to Buys in Settings
Inside All Settings, tap Buys to open your buy configuration options.

- 3
Generate your QR code
Find the Generate QR code section and enter your email address. ResaleAI will email you the QR code shortly after.

- 4
Print and place the QR code at your cashwrap
Print the QR code and place it somewhere visible near your buy counter. If you're usually backed up with check-ins, print multiple copies so customers can scan from different spots in line.
Part 2: How QR check-in works (train your team)
Walk your team through what the QR check-in flow looks like from both the customer's and employee's side.
- 1
Customer scans the QR code
The customer scans the QR code with their phone camera. It takes them directly to your store's check-in form — no texting needed.

- 2
Customer fills out the check-in form
The customer enters their phone number, name, and email, then signs your buy policy. The form no longer has the old spinning "checked in" animation — cleaner and less confusing.

- 3
Customer is prompted to speak with an employee
After submitting, the customer's phone shows a confirmation screen telling them to find an employee, drop their bags, and complete check-in in person.

- 4
Employee finds the customer in the Pending tab
At the POS, the employee goes to the Pending section on the Buy page. If there's a line, all customers who scanned the QR code will appear here. The employee asks the next customer their name and finds them in the Pending tab to begin check-in.
- 5
Select the customer's DRS record and click Next
When the employee clicks the pending buy, they'll see the customer search page — it's looking up the customer's phone number in DRS. Select the right DRS customer and click Next to continue.
- 6
Add bag details and complete check-in
After clicking Next, the employee will see the customer's name and signature from the form they submitted. Enter the bag details, scan the ID if required, and click Check in to finish.
ID scanning still works: From the pending buy, click Next to reach the main form, then scan the ID. It will save to that customer's buy.
Require email addresses: Go to All Settings → Buys → Adjust customer requirements to turn on email as a required field.
